Foundations for New School Leaders brings together practicing Principals as facilitators and panelists, along with the inspirational voices of BC’s education partners. It’s an exceptional opportunity for leadership development, networking, learning, and growth.

This year's theme is "Compassionate Systems Through the Lens of the BCPVPA Leadership Competencies." Participants will dive deeper into knowing themselves within the system and how to act and thrive within the system.

Keynote speaker Dr. Peter Senge will guide participants through dialogue and reflective practices on systems thinking. Dr. Senge has been at the forefront of organizational learning, focused on developing learning communities within and especially among organizations, to bring about deep change that individual organizations are unable to achieve working alone. 

Foundations supports new leaders to ‘think like a Principal and Vice-Principal’ as they transition to the role. The relationships and networks that are forged during Foundations will support new Principals and Vice-Principals throughout their careers. 

With the city hosting seven matches during the 2026 FIFA World Cup, event and accommodation spaces are at a premium. So this year we are moving to another beautiful BC location: UBC Okanagan in Kelowna.
