Foundations for New School Leaders brings together practicing Principals as facilitators and panelists, along with the inspirational voices of BC’s education partners. It’s an exceptional opportunity for leadership development, networking, learning, and growth.

Foundations supports new leaders to ‘think like a Principal and Vice-Principal’ as they transition to the role. The relationships and networks that are forged during Foundations will support new Principals and Vice-Principals throughout their careers. 

Developed in collaboration with education leaders and constantly evolving, Foundations has been designed to help facilitate critical transitions, both from the classroom to school leadership, and from Vice-Principal to Principal, and provides a province-wide context for educational leadership.

With the city hosting seven matches during the 2026 FIFA World Cup, event and accommodation spaces are at a premium. So this year we are moving to another beautiful BC location: UBC Okanagan in Kelowna. In this three day experiential session, a team of experienced trainers and educators will provide an overview of the Compassionate Systems Framework and an introduction to some of the key tools and practices.
