In the lead up to Black History Month, learn more about Black history in BC. The BC Black History Society's timeline goes back nearly 200 years, and this is a history that touches all parts of BC, and all of us. For example, did you know that John Craven Jones was the first Black teacher in the province and the only teacher on Salt Spring Island from around 1859 to 1875?
