THE PRESIDENT’S PERSPECTIVE - Brian Leonard

September 22, 2023 Message to Members

Greetings colleagues,

Many of you are now in the rhythm of your year, and beginning to look up from some of the deep absorbing tasks that are crucial to your start-up. In our August 2023 Leading: Back to School publication, we provided our annual primer on the many regulations, standards, and policies that guide and direct your practice. The article outlines basic duties and fiduciary responsibilities, along with tools to help you manage you own rights and responsibilities in your role. This is a great time of year to review and save this document for future reference.

We received feedback from members last year that our reminders about duties, responsibilities, and specific supports for your professional role are helpful to your practice, and we have focused our weekly ReSource feature in eNews to meet this need. ReSource is now focused on tips and tools from BCPVPA’s Member Support Services team, and offers information that will benefit both new and more experienced leaders. You will find content related to contracts, fiduciary duty, professional standards, pension and retirement, compensation, and much more. Our intent is to assist our members in being successful in their roles by having access to relevant and topical reminders.

You will find the ReSource tab here in eNews, right under the President’s Message. We are archiving the columns each week in the ReSource tile in My BCPVPA. If you haven’t yet visited My BCPVPA, you can find directions to access our one-stop member-only portal under the BCPVPA News tab.

If there is a topic that you are interested in seeing featured in ReSource, please contact Magdalena Kassis, Director, Member Support Services.

Greetings,

Brian
