Programs for Early Career Leaders
Mark your calendars! We are thrilled to announce two upcoming opportunities for aspiring and new school leaders.
This is a new virtual offering from the BCPVPA, with the goal of introducing the role of the Vice-Principal to teachers and teacher-leaders who are ready to explore the next step. EASL (Essentials for Aspiring School Leaders) will be held on four Saturday mornings: April 17, May 1, May 15 & May 29, 2021.
The program will draw upon the experience and guidance of current Vice-Principals and Principals as participants are introduced to the four domains of the BCPVPA Leadership Standards, and offered an opportunity to learn about the many responsibilities of the role. This inaugural EASL program will be limited to 30 participants, and program application will open February 1, 2021. BCPVPA members are invited to introduce this opportunity to their teachers who are seeking a leadership opportunity.
The COVID-19 pandemic prevented the BCPVPA from holding our traditional Short Course 1 in July, and to fill that gap we launched ENSL (Essentials for New School Leaders), an online opportunity for new leaders to take part in facilitated conversation with practicing Vice-Principals and Principals, and to learn more about the many skills required as a school leader.
While health and safety protocols will continue to restrict our presentation of Short Course 1 in 2021, we are delighted to again offer this virtual experience for new Vice-Principals and Principals on four mornings the week of July 5, 2021. Registration for ENSL will open February 1, 2021.
